Norman man arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography
NORMAN, Okla. – A Norman man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly possessing child pornography.
According to court documents, in June 2015, police officers received multiple Cybertips from the Internet Crimes Against Children Oklahoma Task Force about a man uploading child pornography.
After investigating, officials found the person who allegedly uploaded the photos was Mark Simpson.
In July 2015, police officers searching Simpson’s home and found 32 images of child pornography on a thumb drive.
The Norman Parks and Recreation Director confirmed with the Norman Transcript that Simpson, along with his ex-wife, coached his daughter’s softball team of 8 and 9-year-old girls.
A warrant for his arrest was issued Sept. 18.
Officials say Simpson was arrested Tuesday afternoon, along with Emily Stover, who was allegedly harboring him.
They were both booked into the Cleveland County Jail.
Simpson is now facing two counts of felony possession of child pornography.
