OKLAHOMA CITY - Megan Peters got the call from her alarm company shortly after getting to work Tuesday morning.

The alarm had gone off.

Someone had come in through the front door.

“I knew that no one was home so I told them to send out the police,” said Peters.

Unfortunately, her alarm company neglected to give police the code to the gate at her house, so officers couldn’t get in.

Surveillance video shows the man realizes he tripped the alarm, but instead of running, he hangs out on the side of the house for several minutes as he sips from his water bottle.

When he realizes no one’s coming, he slips inside and goes up the stairs.

He took Peters’ laptop and two different jewelry boxes.

And the camera is still recording as he walks out with the items tucked under his arm.

“He’s pretty much caught red handed with the items in his hand,” said Peters.

Megan took that picture and hit the streets, going to a nearby church on Eastern.

Someone there recognized that the suspect hangs out at the McDonald’s at MLK and Eastern.

She went there, but didn’t find him.

“I have a teenage daughter who’s scared to come home alone now.  I have children who feel insecure in their own home.  I’ve lost things that are personal and important to me and it’s not okay,” said Peters.  “Not only would I love to have him caught and to let him know that this is not okay to do to people, but I feel like he might be in a situation in his life where he needs some help to help him turn things around.”

If you think you recognize the man in the video, please call Oklahoma City police.
