With teams like West Virginia capable of scoring in the 40's each week Bob Stoops says the only result he wants from his defense is.
Bob Stoops says, “A win I think TCU's pretty satisfied with their win last weekend you win differently each week and that's why I say it a lot about playing together as a team that's what I mean by it one side of the ball doesn't win or lose for you it's always a combination.”
After scoring just three points in the Akron and Tennessee games combined OU's offense put up 17 in the first verses Tulsa Baker Mayfield says a fast start helps the whole team.
Baker Mayfield says, “It helps our defense out they can play more aggressive more loose coming out to a fast start it'll help not only us as an offensive team but as the defense too and the special teams they can be more aggressive too.”
Oklahoma memorial stadium quickly developed into a house of horrors for OU opponents during the Bob Stoops era, in fact, Stoops is 16-4 against ranked teams but two of those losses came just last season so the Sooners are out to recreate that home field dominance.
OU Safety Steven Parker says, “For us it's very important especially starting off our first Big 12 game we're all excited to go ahead and start that off at first it was more about Tennessee the big name the big question the big game of everything but now since Tennessee’s over with now we're really just trying to focus in and dial in on just big 12 play and just having a great year.”
