OKLAHOMA CITY- Thousands of Oklahomans will be heading south of the Red River this weekend for a big game between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas.

On Saturday, OU and Texas will battle it out in the Cotton Bowl for the Red River Showdown.

Before you make it to Dallas, you will have to maneuver through a bit of construction.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, construction continues along the I-35 interchanges at Lindsey St. and State Hwy 9 East and on Hwy 9 East at 24th Ave. S.W. in Norman.

Speed limits are reduced and drivers should expect delays along I-35. Plan extra time or consider an alternate route, like Sooner Rd.

Also, drivers in Oklahoma City will see a bit of traffic due to construction.

The left lane of eastbound I-44 will be closed between Pennsylvania Ave. and Western Ave. through Oct. 18 for bridge work.

The eastbound I-44 off ramp to N.W. Expressway remains closed and westbound N.W. Expressway is narrowed under I-44 for ongoing bridge work on Belle Isle.
