OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, legislators and law enforcement officials are hosting a ‘Back the Blue’ rally.

Scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday on the south steps of the state capitol, the rally offers support and thanks to law enforcement agencies and officers.

Oklahomans are encouraged to join dressed in the color blue “to show their appreciation for law enforcement professionals, who risk their lives to protect their communities,” according to a press release.

They are also asked to turn on blue lights in their homes and businesses.

“Working in law enforcement can be a dangerous job, but it should never be a thankless one,” Fallin said. “I encourage Oklahomans to join us at the capitol to thank our law enforcement officers for the work they do to keep us safe.”

She also invited people to attend the rally through a Tweet, asking to show support “for the fine men and women.”
