Police: Man shot in back during attempted robbery

OKLAHOMA CITY – Police say one man is in the hospital after being shot in the back during an attempted robbery in southwest Oklahoma City.

The man was standing outside of his home near S.W. 44th and Western early Tuesday morning when two men came up and asked him for money.

Police say the victim told the men “no” and took off running toward his house.

The man says that is when the two men shot him in the back.

Air One and K-9 units were out searching for the suspects.

So far, authorities have not been able to find them.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic men in their early 20s.

One of the men was reportedly wearing a black hoodie.  The other was wearing a red shirt.
