O’FALLON, MO — Sydney is only 5-years-old, and is battling a rare form of kidney cancer. She will soon begin a four-month isolation period prior to surgery.

But before all that, she was able to spend a day as the St. Charles County Police Department Police Chief.

Sydney was given a special ceremony, a tour of the police station, and a magical visit from Cinderella. She even got to solve a crime at a local McDonald’s, stopping the Hamburglar from stealing Happy Meals.

“She shows us bravery. I mean, we deal with what we deal with but we can’t imagine what Sydney was gone through with treatments at five years old. If you can just imagine while everyone else is running and playing, Sydney is dealing with this. So, I mean we’re just in awe of Sydney today,” St. Charles County Police Chief David Todd said.
