SPOKANE, Wash. — A 15-year-old Washington teen has been charged with running a prostitution ring out of his mother’s house, according to court documents obtained by KHQ-TV.

According to the report, the mother received 25 percent of the profits.

Prosecutors charged Dionte Hunter for promoting prostitution of minors, promoting commercial sex abuse of a minor, possessing sexually explicit photos of minors and first degree robbery, according to KREM.

Documents show the women involved in the operation were as young as 14 years old, according to KHQ-TV.

It will be up to the judge to decide if Hunter is tried as an adult because of the seriousness of the crimes.

The ring was reportedly uncovered when officials followed up on a shooting investigation involving Dionte’s brother  from earlier this year.

Thaishaun Hunter, 17, was arrested for a drive-by shooting in January. After he was arrested, officials say Thaishaun made calls to his brother from the detention center.

Detectives reportedly listened to the calls and said Thaishaun was explaining to his younger brother how to run the prostitution ring while he was locked up.

Dionte’s arrest is only the second in relation to the prostitution ring. However, court documents said several people profited from the illegal proceeds including Hunter’s mother.

No charges have been filed against her at this time.
