Body found near dumpsite positively identified as missing Norman man

UPDATE: 10/27/15 The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says they have positively identified the remains found in Tribbey earlier this month.

The remains were found at a dumpsite and are those of Corey Maxwell.

OSBI says the identification was made through fingerprint analysis.

Original Story 10/22/15--NORMAN, Okla. - Investigators have discovered a body near a dump site in Tribbey, SE of Norman, after receiving a tip.

Sources close to the investigation tell NewsChannel 4 that they were looking for 32-year-old Corey Maxwell.

Maxwell was last seen on Sept. 8 and last spoke to his family on Sept. 10.

Authorities say they received information that Maxwell was killed and his body was dumped in Tribbey.

On Wednesday, agents dug through the area and found human remains. Officials continued to search through the dumpsite and found more remains that are believed to be human.

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office collected the remains and are now working to identify them.

Sources close to the investigation say Roy Workman is believed to be a person of interest in the case.

Workman is currently in jail on another charge.

He has not been arrested or charged in this case.

The cause and manner of death have not been released.
