STILLWATER, Okla. – An Oklahoma man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a young girl.

On Oct. 13, police officers received a call about a disturbance at a trailer park in Stillwater, the Stillwater News Press reports.

The 911 caller told dispatch that an intoxicated man had assaulted a young girl.

When officers arrived to the trailer park, witnesses told police that Joseph Conkling, 38, walked up to the young girl while she was walking home from school.

The girl says Conkling “got in her face” and after asking him to leave, Conkling allegedly grabbed the young girl’s crotch.

Officers reportedly found Conkling staggering down the street.

They could smell alcohol on him, and placed him under arrest for public intoxication.

Conkling’s three children, aged 10-13, were found at their home and told police that they were not surprised at the allegations.

The children’s grandmother came to the home to take possession of them.

Conkling was booked into the Payne County Jail for lewd acts with a child under 15.
