CHICKASHA, OKLA.- Two people were found dead inside a home on Hillcrest Drive in Chickasha early Saturday afternoon, according to Chickasha Police.

Authorities say, Chickasha Police were called to the home after the mother found her daughter unresponsive in the bedroom.

She was  identified as 57-year-old Sheila Brownen. She was transported to the hospital, where she died.

Police say they found a deceased male in the same room with a gunshot wound when they arrived.

Chickasha Police told NewsChannel 4 that a handgun was found lying near his body.

The male was later identified as 58-year-old Charles Brownen. Police say he was the ex-husband of the other victim, though the two lived together.

His brother told NewsChannel 4 he was as shocked as anyone by the news.  He said his brother and his ex-wife had gotten back together three years ago or so and they never had any trouble.

People living in the neighborhood say they were surprised and a bit unnerved by the crime scene that had cropped up in a normally quiet area.

Police are not actively looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
