DURANT, Okla. – An Oklahoma high school student was taken into custody after he allegedly threatened to shoot dozens of students and staff members at the school.

Police say a Durant High School student sent threatening messages online, saying he was going to shoot at least 26 students and staffers.

Police contacted the boy and he was taken into custody by the Department of Mental Health.

They encourage parents and staff to be aware of strange behavior among students and report it immediately.
