OCALA, Fla. – Church leaders were stunned when they learned that someone was stealing from them during a church service.

According to WESH, church leaders at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church had an idea that something was wrong when the church’s collections dropped.

They asked the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to check into their suspicions but never expected the alleged thief to be caught on camera.

Authorities say a 60-year-old usher was seen grabbing money from the collection plates and putting the cash in his pocket while everyone else prayed.

Now, the alleged thief is facing felony theft charges.
