JONES, Okla. – An Oklahoma middle school was evacuated after strong winds knocked down nearby power lines Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1:45 p.m., students and staff at Jones Middle School were forced to evacuate when power lines in the area almost fell onto the school.

School officials say the students were bussed over to the high school to finish out the day.

OG&E plans to send a line crew to make a repair.

Officials tell KFOR that there were no power outages.
