OKLAHOMA CITY – With Thanksgiving just around the corner, many shoppers will be hitting the stores to find the best deals on Christmas presents.

However, not all sales are created equal.

This year, the National Retail Federation expects total retail sales to reach $630.5 billion.

To help consumers maximize their savings, WalletHub surveyed 8,000 deals from 30 of the biggest U.S. retailers’ ads for Black Friday.

According to WalletHub, JCPenney will give you the most bang for your buck on Black Friday with an average discount of about 68 percent.

WalletHub’s list of the best retailers for Black Friday is as follows:

  1. JCPenney
  2. Kohl’s
  3. Stage
  4. Groupon
  5. Belk
  6. Macy’s
  7. Kmart
  8. Panasonic
  9. Fred Meyer
  10. Office Depot and OfficeMax
  11. Sears

The overall average discount for Black Friday is 40 percent, so experts say consumers should aim for a discount of 40 percent or more to avoid Black Friday price traps.

WalletHub found that you will likely save on a lot of items, but there are specific deals that have actually jumped  in price.

In fact, researchers say over 17 percent of items will be more expensive on Black Friday than they currently are on Amazon.
