OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- There are people who think Kevin Lamb might be selling ice cream from his bicycle.
Then there are people simply too shy to ask him why he's riding across the country wearing a cow suit.
"Would you call this a pilgrimage, a journey, a quixotic quest," asks a photographer?
"Yes," he smiles.
Call it what you want, but Kevin came out of a really long meditation retreat last year with a vision.
"It kind of suggested itself," he recalls. "Just that phrase, Mustache Across America. I remember thinking, 'that's odd, but why not'."
Last fall he and a photographer friend shot a video based on the idea.
This year he took a month off from his freelance publicist career to bike across the United States.
He left San Diego on November 1st.
Oklahoma City, he says, is the middle of the mustache.
Pointing to the hair on his lip, Kevin says, "I knew San Diego. I knew Savannah, and I knew Oklahoma City."
"Are you having a good time," asks the photographer?
"No," he cackles, "but I highly recommend it."
The cow suit has a loose verbal association with his adventure; moostache, movember.
It's also comfy when he has to sleep outside at night.
Kevin is one his own.
No support team, not much money, but then again he's not trying to raise any either.
So his conversations with passerby tend to be easy-going and pleasant.
He enjoys talking about mustaches, of course.
But during his shorts stop in Oklahoma City Kevin got in a little cow suit basketball.
He got a good laugh from these ladies by sliding down backwards at the Myriad Gardens, and everywhere he goes the phones and selfie requests come out.
Lamb will bike right through Thanksgiving.
His vision calls for him to finish in Savannah, Georgia on the 30th along with his 'stache' and his cow suit.
