CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. — This week, Canadian County Sheriff’s Office and Fuzzell’s Business Equipment of Oklahoma City gave gift certificates to selected families and children throughout Canadian County.

The gift certificates are good for a complete Thanksgiving meal. Some families also got $200 to use for children’s Christmas presents.

“We received the recipients’ names from local churches and charitable organizations,” said Sheriff Edwards. “These are families that have fallen on hard times and would not have had Thanksgiving or Christmas for their children if not for these donations.”

The gift cards include one 10-12 pound turkey, 2 pounds of dressing, 2 pounds of mashed potatoes, 1 pound of gravy, and 12 ounces of cranberry relish. The meal is enough to feed 12 people, according to Beachler’s, a local grocery store in El Reno.

“We just wanted to give to these Canadian County families in need a helping hand this holiday. We have been blessed and we want to pay it forward,” Joe Fuzzell told Sheriff Edwards.
“Some of the best people on this earth live in Canadian County; Joe and Susie Fuzzell are certainly two of them,” Edwards said.
