GEORGIA — A security guard from Georgia Tech was deeply touched when a large group of students banded together to pay it forward.

Students from the Scheller College of Business wanted to thank the security guard who “always goes the extra mile to make their day a little bit better.”

The college kids hoped to scrape up $100 as a token of appreciation, but in the true spirit of the holiday season, they pulled together $1,600 in two days!

“It’s not about the money, it’s about how many people donated and how much we appreciate you every day,” one student said as he handed off the gift.

The security guard, Marcus Burns, cried tears of joy as the kids laughed and cheered.

“Thanks for continuing show us why Georgia Tech is such an amazing place.#HappyHolidays,” the Facebook post reads.
