Second Half Sooner Run in Hawaii Keeps OU Unbeaten

Oklahoma’s 3rd-ranked men’s basketball team went on a 17-0 and a 29-8 run in the second half to pull away from Washington State and beat the Cougars 88-60 on Tuesday night, December 22 at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Buddy Hield led the Sooners with 25 points and hit five 3-pointers, hitting half of OU’s 10 from beyond the arch.

Isaiah Cousins added 13 points with a pair of 3-pointers, while Dante Buford had 11 off the bench and Jordan Woodard added 10.

OU shot 50 percent from the field and outrebounded the Cougars by nine.

The Sooners led by seven at halftime, 38-31, but dominated the second half to improve to 9-0 on the season.

They’ll face the winner of Northern Iowa vs. Hawaii in the semifinals of the Diamond Head Classic on Wednesday night, December 23, at 8:00 central time.
