Buildings featured in 'Where the Red Fern Grows' washed away

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Okla. – A piece of cinematic history in Oklahoma has been washed away by flooding from the Illinois River.

The barn and cabin featured in the film “Where the Red Fern Grows” were washed away in Cherokee County, KOKI reports.

The buildings were sitting on land near the Illinois River, the owner told KOKI.

Now, only a few pieces of the structures remain.
