NORMAN, Okla. — Trevor Knight announced weeks ago that he would be leaving OU, though at the time, he had not made a decision about where he would go.

Head Coach Bob Stoops granted Knight a full release early in Dec., allowing the junior quarterback to transfer to another Big 12 school without having to sit out his senior year.

Monday, Jan. 4, Knight took to social media to announce that he will be playing football at the University of Texas A&M for his senior year.

His farewell letter was full of gratitude towards Norman and the University of Oklahoma.

“A dream come true. Those are the words that can best be used to describe the last four years on my life in Norman, Oklahoma.”

“I wish I could thank everyone personally, but I truly would need a novel. I look forward to being back in Norman to see all of you that have impacted my life so greatly before I head out.”

While Knight made the decision to leave Sooner Nation, he says his heart will stay forever.

“I know one thing for certain, I will always bleed crimson.”

But he says he’s excited for the opportunity to become an Aggie.

“I am extremely excited for the opportunity Coach Sumlin and his staff have afforded me and look forward to making my last year of eligibility a memorable one.”

“So farewell for now Sooner Nation and BOOMER SOONER! And hello, Aggieland, let’s have some fun! Gig ’em!”
