OKLAHOMA CITY - A man is fighting for his life after being shot more than once at an apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

Authorities rushed to the scene at the Forest Creek Apartments, near N.W. 122nd and Rockwell, around 4:15 a.m.

"Police were notified of multiple shots being fired at an apartment complex," said MSgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Neighbors called 911 after reportedly hearing as many as nine gunshots in the area.

"When officers arrived, they found a victim of the shooting. He was hit multiple times with gunfire. He was inside one of the apartments," said Knight.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.

For several hours, police and investigators were in and out of a unit on the third floor of one of the apartment buildings, trying to figure out what happened.

While this investigation continues, police ask residents to be aware of their surroundings and to speak up if you know anything about this violent act.

"Certainly anyone out there with information, we want to hear from them," said Knight.

No arrests have been made.
