NORMAN, Okla.- Officials tell report a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train at the Cedar Lane Train Crossing in Norman.

The incident happened around 2:00 p.m. between 12th and Classen.

Officials shut down Classen in that area.

The victim was later identified as 23-year-old Hao Tang.

Tang was from the city of Qingdao in the Shandong Province of China, and was a student at the University of Oklahoma.

The initial investigation into the incident found that Tang was walking westbound on Cedar Lane Road before being struck by the train at the crossing. While the investigation is still ongoing, the cause of the fatality appears to be accidental.
