OKLAHOMA CITY — Initial reports say a child was hit by a car near an elementary school in south Oklahoma City.

The call came in around 3:25 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The accident reportedly happened at Parmelee Elementary School in the 6700 block of S. Hudson.

A 4th grader was walking home when she stepped out into the middle of 66th St., officials say.

She allegedly stopped when she saw a car coming, but the vehicle ran over her foot.

The 9-year-old child was reportedly transported to OU Children’s as a non-emergency patient.

Police suspect it was a minor incident with minor injuries, possibly a broken foot.
