STILLWATER, Okla. — An elementary school in Stillwater was put on lock down Thursday when an angry parent allegedly stormed into the building.

An upset father bypassed school check-in protocol at Sangre Ridge Elementary and entered the school without proper authorization, police say.

Upon his entrance, school officials notified the School Resource Officer and implemented the Shelter-in-Place procedures.

Stillwater Police say the parent was quickly contained and the Shelter-in-Place status was lifted.

Reports say the father went up to the school after getting word that his child was marked absent even though his child was in class.

“Check-in procedures are in place at every Stillwater School to control access as part of ensuring child safety,” Stillwater Police said in a statement.
