OKLAHOMA - It was a scary start to the morning for a group of cyclists.

What began as ride from Lake Hefner to Overholser quickly turned dangerous after someone opened fire on them.

The group had about 30 riders traveling along Wilshire, where there's a new MAPS trail that connects the two lakes.

But, it was back on Jan. 1 the cyclists were heading west, when a car shot pellets at the riders - hitting one and taking off.

"It went through the hard shell and the foam enough to turn my head," said David Enmark. "I never thought that I would have had to use the helmet to getting shot at."

The portion of the road is heavily traveled by cyclists.

The Oklahoma City Police Department is working to track down the driver.
