Oklahoma school damaged in overnight fire

DOVER, Okla. – A school building in Dover has been damaged by a fire that broke out overnight.

Officials say a fire started in the high school side of the Dover school building around midnight.

Fire crews worked on extinguishing the blaze for hours.

The high school side of the building is a total loss.

There is smoke damage to the elementary side of the school, as well as the cafeteria and gym.

Classes have been cancelled until further notice.

The school’s superintendent says he is meeting with community members later today to come up with a plan for finishing the school year.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
