OU head coach Bob Stoops made the announcement in a press release on Monday.

“Samaje had surgery on his ankle today to fix a ligament he injured in the Orange Bowl,” said Stoops. “Everything went well and we expect a full and complete recovery.”

Perine rushed for 1,349 yards this season and 16 touchdowns.

He’s a two-time first team All-Big 12 pick.
