OKLAHOMA CITY – Firefighters battled a grass fire that consumed several acres in southeast Oklahoma City.

On Thursday afternoon, fire crews were called to a fire near S.E. 171st and Air Depot Blvd.

Firefighters worked to keep the blaze away from structures in the area, and a few houses were evacuated as a precaution.

Several cedar trees fueled the fire, which was also being helped by the wind.

The Norman Fire Department and Oklahoma City Fire Department worked to contain the blaze.

The fire was started by a man welding on his fence.

No one was injured.
