Standoff ends peacefully in Murray County

MURRAY COUNTY, Okla. – A standoff in Murray County has ended peacefully after nearly two and a half hours.

It all started around 2:30 a.m. when police say they tried to stop a driver in the Norman area.

Authorities ended up chasing the suspect all the way down to Murray County.

Chase ends in standoff

Police used stop sticks to blow out a tire of the vehicle.

The suspect then crashed and refused to get out of the car for nearly two and a half hours.

Officials say the crash blocked both southbound lanes of I-35 near Hwy-7.

Eventually, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody.
