FITZGERALD, Ga. – A Georgia man was killed in a home invasion Thursday, just two months after winning a nearly half-million-dollar lottery jackpot.

Craigory Burch Jr., 20, was shot to death inside his Fitzgerald, Georgia home, WALB reports.

Officials say his girlfriend was home at the time and ran for help.

Burch, a forklift operator, had won a $434,272 Fantasy 5 jackpot in Nov. 2015.

According to WALB, Burch’s friends said that he recently used some of his winnings to buy Christmas presents for people in need.

So far, no suspects have been named in connection to Burch’s death.
