OKLAHOMA CITY – A man was arrested for murder in southeast Oklahoma City Monday.

Around 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 30, police say they were called to a disturbance at the Royal Inn in the 2800 block of S. I-35 Service Rd.

When officers arrived, they found Justin Lucas, 38, lying on an upper level landing within the complex.

He was suffering from gunshot wounds.

Witnesses told police that Lucas was involved in an altercation at the motel and a series of gunshots were heard.

Lucas was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators later determined Nicholas Victor Freeman, 30, was responsible for Lucas’ death.

Freeman was arrested on one complaint of murder in the first degree.
