Former Ardmore pastor charged with forgery

ARDMORE, Okla. – An Oklahoma City pastor is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his former church in Ardmore.

According to KXII, 53-year-old Willie Tiller Jr. is charged with ten counts of forgery.

Officials say the crimes took place for two years while Tiller was the pastor of First Baptist Church in Ardmore.

Tiller’s accused of forging a church member’s signature and writing checks to himself from the church’s daycare account.

More than $12,000 was taken from the daycare, KXII reports.

He was the pastor at the church for nearly 10 years.

If convicted, Tiller could spend up to 70 years in prison, KXII reports.

Tiller is the current pastor of Tabernacle Baptist in Oklahoma City.
