TIPTON, Okla. – An Oklahoma woman is facing insurance fraud charges after she allegedly filed a false insurance claim.

Authorities say 37-year-old Barbara Sheree Vann allegedly filed insurance claims for repairs to her vehicle that never occurred.

Vann filed repair estimates for hail damage to her vehicle three separate times. On the first two instances, Vann received a check from her insurance company for $2,877 and $2,707.

In the third instance, Vann used a different body shop that estimated the damage to be more than $5,000.

The insurance agency says no repairs were ever made and Vann withdrew her claim.

Vann is charged with one felony count of false claim for insurance. She could face up to three years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000 in restitution.
