NOBLE, Okla. – An Oklahoma man is trying to make abortion illegal in the Sooner State.

According to the Associated Press, Thomas Hunter filed paperwork last week to launch a petition for a state question regarding abortions. If approved, anyone who performs an abortion would be guilty of a homicide.

Hunter’s proposal is currently in a 10-day window, meaning any citizen has 10 days to file a protest and challenge his petition.

If not challenged in court, the Secretary of State would set a 90-day window during which he would need to gather 120,000 signatures of registered voters so the question can be placed on the November ballot.
