Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield overcame a slow start with a strong second half, and hit the game-winning three pointer with just over a second to play to lead the third-ranked Sooners over #24 Texas, 63-60, on Monday night, Feburary 8, at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Hield had just six points at halftime, but scored 21 in the second half to finish with a game high 27, including the final 12 points of the game for the Sooners.

The final points came on a three-pointer from the left wing with just over a second to play.

Hield then stole the inbounds pass to ice the win, OU's fifth straight over Texas and fourth in a row over the Longhorns in Norman.

Isaiah Cousins was the only other Sooner in double figures with 17 points.

OU shot just 40 percent from the field had a hard time getting off 3-pointers, making 9 of 22 beyond the arc.

The Sooners improved to 20-3 overall, 8-3 in Big 12 play.

Oklahoma is next in action this Saturday, February 13, when they host #6 Kansas in a rematch of a triple overtime game the two teams played in Lawrence last month that was won by the Jayhawks.

Tipoff for the KU game is set for 1:30 pm at the Lloyd Noble Center.
