Cowboys Can’t Hang on at TCU

Oklahoma State led for most of the first half and early in the second half, but TCU got hot down the stretch to beat the Cowboys 63-56 on Monday night, February 8, at Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Horned Frogs shot 65 percent from the field in the second half to take the lead and pull away down the stretch.

Leyton Hammonds led OSU with 16 points and hit four 3-pointers.

Two other Cowboys were in double figure scoring, with Tyree Griffin scoring 12 and Jeffrey Carroll 10.

Oklahoma City native Chauncey Collins had 13 points for the Frogs, who were outrebounded by 12, 37-25.

Turnovers doomed the Pokes with 22 for the game, while TCU outscored OSU 22-11 off turnovers.

The Cowboys dropped to 11-13 on the season overall, 2-9 in conference play.

OSU will host Kansas State Saturday, February 13,  at noon at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.
