Shane Morley, Oklahoma County Jail

OKLAHOMA CITY – A man is under suicide watch at the Oklahoma County Jail after he was arrested for kidnapping and domestic abuse.

Police say the ordeal started when 24-year-old Shane Morley hid across the street from his ex-girlfriend’s home near N.W. 17th and Gatewood.

Morley told police that he was hiding across the street because “he thought his girl might be cheating on him, so he was keeping tabs on her for a while.”

Police say Morley and the woman did have an on-again, off-again relationship for the last eight years , but the woman had recently ended things with Morley.

When the woman left the home, Morley approached her and the two got into an argument.

That is when Morley allegedly grabbed the woman by the arm and said he was armed with a gun.

She started to scream for help while the man dragged her away, the police report states.

He reportedly grabbed her around the neck and stomach and forced to walk behind a nearby business.

While they were behind the business, police say Morley told the woman he was going to take her against her will to another state and that if she didn’t cooperate, he would kill her.

The man allegedly held her behind the business until officers arrived.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect and the 38-year-old victim hiding behind a large trash dumpster in the area.

Morley was holding onto the woman and refused to let go, the police report states.

Police say Morley refused to obey orders until one officer took out his taser.

The man was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail for kidnapping and domestic abuse.

Police say he is under suicide watch.
