OKLAHOMA CITY- Firefighters are working to extinguish a fire that has consumed a home in southwest Oklahoma City.
Around 1 p.m., fire crews were called to a large house fire near S.W. 59th and Sara Rd.
When they arrived, firefighters were forced to take a defensive stance to prevent the fire from spreading to the grass or other structures.
Flames were shooting from the roof and heavy smoke could be seen from miles away.
Fire crews are having to use water from tankers rather than hydrants because of the home’s location.
It appears the house is a total loss.
