KFOR Investigation: School zone sex offenders
OKLAHOMA CITY – They have served their time behind bars and now they are living among us.
“There’s more sex offenders in Oklahoma City than police officers,” said MSgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “And, we have over 1,100 police officers.”
They are legally required to live at least 2,000 feet from school property.
We did weeks of research and discovered there are sex offenders living just blocks away from nearly every public school in Oklahoma City.
“And, that’s just a registered sex offender, too?” asked Oklahoma City resident Stephanie Rogers. “Wow, that’s crazy!”
A parent’s best defense is knowledge.
