Car accident leads to grass fire, power outage in northwest Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – A car accident in northwest Oklahoma City has caused several issues for emergency crews and residents in the area.

On Wednesday afternoon, emergency crews responded to an accident involving two vehicles near N.W. 178th and Meridian.

Officials say the crash resulting in power outages for more than 11,000 residents.

The crash also sparkedĀ a small fire that quickly spread to nearby grassy areas.

Firefighters worked to get the fire under control and stop it from spreading further.

No word on whether anyone was injured in that initial crash.
