New WGN America series ‘Underground’ screens at the White House, watch it live

The new series ‘Underground’ coming to WGN America is screening at The White House before it airs on television. The story centers on slaves who risk everything for freedom along the Underground Railroad.

Sneak Peak at Underground

“Underground” is being included as part of the Black History Month event “These Hallowed Grounds” at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and will include a panel discussion with stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Christopher Meloni, Alano Miller, Jessica de Gouw and Amirah Vann. Executive producers John Legend, Misha Green, Joe Pokaski and Akiva Goldman, along with director and executive producer Anthony Hemingway, will also take part.

The live event will happen at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22 and you can watch below.

Sony Pictures Television and Tribune Studios are producing the series. “Underground” premieres Wednesday, March 9 on WGN America.
