LOGAN COUNTY, Okla. – An Oklahoma woman was arrested this week for what was once believed to be a suicide, but was actually determined to be a homicide.

On May 30, 2015, Logan County deputies were called to the 2800 block of Browne Ave. in Guthrie, Okla. in reference to a reported suicide.

When authorities arrived, deputies found Geoffrey Wakefield, 29, with a gunshot wound to the head.

He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Officials also found Wakefield’s fiancée, Dana Marie Reeder, inside the home at the time of the incident.

Authorities say that investigators at the scene did not believe the shooting was a suicide.

Therefore, a criminal investigation began.

Authorities later determined Reeder was responsible for her fiancé’s death.

She was arrested on Feb. 24, 2016 and booked into the Logan County Jail.
