NEW DELHI – An Indian man allegedly killed 14 family members before taking his own life on Sunday, according to police.

Authorities told CNN that 35-year-old Husnain Anwar Warekar put sedatives in his relatives’ food before slashing their throats with a knife.

The victims included Warekar’s 28-year-old wife and two daughters, who are between 3-months-old and 6-years-old.

Police say he also killed his 65-year-old father and 55-year-old mother, along with his sisters and their six children.

Investigators say one woman survived the attack and called for help. By the time investigators arrived at the scene, Warekar had hanged himself.

Right now, a motive for the murders is unknown.
