MOBILE, Ala. – A toddler is in state custody after a disturbing video was posted online.

Police say the video captured 18-year-old Lauren Englett while she was allegedly high on synthetic marijuana. Her 2-year-old child was standing nearby crying as Englett was barely conscious and even convulsing.

“What’s disturbing is a mother using the drugs, ignoring the child, a child walking around on a balcony,” Lori Myles, with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, told WPM. “We see the state of the other two people there, anything could happen to that child and they would not even be aware of it.”

Englett was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic violence/ reckless endangerment.
