One person in custody after apartment fire in S.W. Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – One person is in custody after an apartment fire in southwest Oklahoma City.

Around 11:30 p.m. Monday, fire crews were called to an apartment complex near 58th and Douglas on reports of a fire.

When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy flames coming from a unit on the second story of the complex.

Fortunately, fire crews were able to put the fire out and prevent the flames from spreading to other units.

Officials say the woman who lives in the apartment unit where the fire started admitted to starting the fire.

She was taken into custody at the scene.

Right now, officials estimate the fire caused about $40,000 in damage.
