Travis Ford expected to be fired by Oklahoma State

It’s expected that Oklahoma State head basketball coach Travis Ford will be fired in the coming days.

ESPN’s Jeff Goodman first reported the news.

A source told NewsChannel 4 Sports that they were “hearing it’s going to happen.”

The Cowboys went 155-111 in eight seasons in Stillwater. He finished in the bottom half of the Big 12 standings in six of those eight years.

OSU was decimated by injuries this season with guards Phil Forte and Juwan Evans missing more than half the season.

The Cowboys finished 12-20 and 3-15 in conference play.

It’s just the second losing season for Oklahoma State since the 1987-88 season.

Ford is due more than $7 million by the university if they decide to fire him because of a buyout clause in his contract.
