OKLAHOMA CITY- Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting his 13-year-old neighbor.

Dale Schmidt, 58, is charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy in his trailer home.

Schmidt told the young 13-year-old his dad had allowed him to go next door to "show him how to tune a guitar," according to court records.

One of his neighbors, Brytini Henderson, described Schmidt as kind.

"We used to watch his cat. He seemed like a nice guy to us, and he lived with his mom, and he and his mom used to come and ask us to watch his animals," Henderson said.

Once the young boy was inside Schmidt's home, he "picked up the victim and placed him on a bed and began to tickle him on his stomach and legs. The victim tried to get away and as he did Schmidt tried to pull his pants down while stating 'let's see how big a boy you are,'" according to court documents.

"Never trust anybody regardless of if they know them or not because you just can't," Henderson said.

The 13-year-old boy was able to run out of the trailer.

Schmidt allegedly went running after him, but the victim had already locked himself inside his home.

"They should just always keep an eye on your child because you just can't let your kids out of your sight anymore," Henderson said.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater has not filed charges yet.
