LAS VEGAS – A family is asking for answers after a fire claimed the life of a 28-year-old mother.

Teresa Price told KTNV that her daughter, Taneshia Smith, was found in a bathtub after her apartment caught fire.

She says fire crews rushed to the apartment and put out the blaze, but never checked to see if there were any victims.

“I’m saying that my daughter would have been able to be saved if they would have went in that bath and seen her,” Price said.

Clark County fire investigators say they searched the area of the apartment that was damaged by the fire, but did not find anyone.

Eventually, a maintenance worker went to the apartment to fix a leak and found Smith’s body in the bathtub.
