Veterans across the globe are praising a video for its interpretation of post traumatic stress disorder.

“The Present Trauma” focuses on the struggle that many veterans face when coming back from the battlefield.

Director Mark Manalo told the Independent that he relied on real stories from Marines to create the story line for the film.

“PTSD affects people in different ways. Full-on visions are not common in the vast majority of those who suffer from PTSD. However, there are a small number of those who do experience visions after having traumatic experiences, which was the case with the Marine’s story that inspired this film,” Manalo said.
